Worthy of Respect
At Union Rescue Mission, we treat every "guest" or resident with all the respect a child of God deserves. We treat them the way we would want to be treated ourselves. That means we never give an individual an item of clothing or pair of shoes that we would not be willing to wear ourselves.

What Should I Donate?

Used Clothing:
We are in need of quality clothing and shoes of all sizes for men, women, and children, including maternity clothing. Specialty sizes (extra large and tall) are especially needed. Business attire for men and women (suits, shirts, ties, scarves, etc.) are greatly appreciated. Donations of coats, hats, and gloves are very important during the winter months.

• We ask that all donations of used clothing be clean, of good quality, and ready to wear (no repairs needed).
• We ask that all donations of used clothing be sorted, boxed, and labeled according to gender (men, women, or children) and marked as "used."

New Clothing:
Donations of new clothing are always appreciated, especially in the following categories: undergarments for men, women, and children; socks; panty hose; and baby clothes.

Baby Items:
Donations of baby items such as cribs, strollers, high chairs, etc. can mean so much to a desperately poor family.

• We ask that all baby items be clean, safe, and in excellent condition.

Furniture:
Due to seriously limited space in our warehouse, donations of furniture are accepted according to immediate need.

• We ask that donated furniture be clean, in excellent condition, and ready to place in an apartment or home.

Housewares:
Items essential to setting up a home, such as pots and pans, lamps, bedspreads, etc. are accepted according to immediate need.

• We ask that donated housewares be clean, in excellent condition, and boxed with contents clearly marked.

To make a new donation of clothing, furniture, or other needed items, please contact:

We will let you know what items are needed and provide instructions on how to deliver or ship your donation to the Mission.

We will gladly provide a receipt (acceptable for tax purposes) for your kind donation.
