Carrie comes to Union Rescue Mission with what she refers to as a Masters Degree from Skid Row University. No stranger to homeless services, Carrie ran an outreach program serving men, women, and children in Skid Row for eight years prior to joining The Midnight Mission in 1999. During her eight years of volunteer work in Skid Row, she held administrator positions at Deloitte and Touche and then The Walt Disney Company.

Prior to coming to Union Rescue Mission, Carrie Gatlin directed effective fundraising, public relations and program development activities for The Midnight Mission until she became the Vice President for Eimago, Inc. between February 2005 and March 2007, developing and managing new programs. (As a partner organization of Union Rescue Mission, Eimago, Inc. provides URM's clients with special programs.)

Carrie has over 20 years of management experience and is a seasoned administrator with a proven track record in the areas of fund development, donor relations, capital campaigns, grant administration; community, public, and government relations; and organizational management. Executive management experience has proven her adept in providing strategic and operational direction in the areas of programmatic design and administration, project management, recruiting/staffing, grant writing, capital development, and policy design.

Raised in Texas, Carrie studied Business Administration at Eastfield College in Dallas, TX. Her educational pursuits also included Theological Studies at Kings Institute in Van Nuys, CA and Film and Communication at the Film Actors Conservatory in Dallas, TX.

Carrie’s hobbies include activities in several charities, associations, coalitions, and service groups including a current appointment that is close to her heart: serving as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Prison Ministries of America formerly known as Christian Chaplain Services. She has served as a volunteer chaplain, coordinating and conducting weekly chapel services since 1992, for incarcerated youth at facilities such as Optimist Youth Homes, Penny Lane, and Children’s Baptist Homes. She attends church at Metro Calvary Chapel in Santa Monica.
