With no family around to help, this frail and frightened woman recalls, “I lived on the street for a year -- literally on the concrete. It was demeaning, dangerous and scary.”

When Cherie came to Union Rescue Mission, she learned that there are many reasons families become homeless. Domestic abuse, skyrocketing rent, job loss -- or illness.

Out on Skid Row, vulnerable women and children face danger from wolf-like street predators, ready to pounce on precious little lambs. It takes help from friends like you to provide Los Angeles’ poor and homeless families with the food, shelter and training they need to transform their lives for good!

“I am looking forward to the day when there’s not one woman or child in this area [Skid Row] ever again, for any reason,” asserts Cherie, who found the help she needed at Union Rescue Mission.
