Steve Borja Director of Men's Ministries
Steve graduated from Biola University in 1977 with a B.A. in Psychology. After graduation, he worked at Biola in the Physical Plant and Facilities departments while he attended Talbot School of Theology and earned a Master’s Degree in Marriage in Family Ministries. After graduating from Talbot in 1985, Steve found a ministry position as a pastoral counselor with Ministry Associates, later directing one of their centers in Southern California. In 1995, Steve founded his own pastoral counseling center. In 1999, Mr. Borja had the privilege of teaching as a part-time adjunct instructor in the Christian Ministry and Leadership Department at Talbot for the next two years. Steve Borja came to the Union Rescue Mission in 2003 as chaplain in the Christian Life Discipleship Program, a one year substance abuse recovery program for men challenged by addiction. In October 2007, Steve became the Director of Men’s Ministries directing all the men’s programs at the mission. The Union Rescue Mission is a place where Christ’s redemptive power is observed daily in the lives of the men and Steve thoroughly enjoys the daily challenges of discipleship and the strategic opportunities of urban ministry. Steve has been married to Diane, also a Biola graduate, for 32 years. They have three children, Mark 25, Julie 23, and Kevin 17. Julie carried on the family tradition, having just graduated with honors from Biola in May 2007 with a degree in Psychology. |
